Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland: Is It Worth It?

June 29, 20269 min read

If you have a little one who dreams of being a Disney princess, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is one of those magical experiences that lives in their memory long after the pixie dust settles. But before you book, there are a few things I really wish someone had told me. After experiencing it firsthand with my own toddler, I am sharing everything so you can walk in prepared and walk out with the most magical memories possible.

Here is our honest, real-family review of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland, covering timing, what to expect, the bring-your-own-dress question, and why our Fairy Godmother's Apprentice completely stole the show.

What Is Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique?

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a princess and knight transformation experience offered inside Disneyland park in Fantasyland. Trained Cast Members called Fairy Godmother's Apprentices give little Guests a full makeover complete with hairstyling, accessories, and optional costume and makeup packages. It is an add-on experience that requires a separate reservation and a fee on top of park admission, for Guests ages 3 to 12.

Packages range from entry-level hairstyling and accessories all the way up to full princess gown experiences, with pricing currently starting around $59.99 for the knight Adventure Package and going up to $229.99 plus tax for the top-tier Kingdom Package.

What's New at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in 2026

If you have done BBB before, a few things have changed recently and are worth knowing about.

As of October 2025, Disney simplified the package lineup at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The Signature Dress Collection is no longer included as part of a package, though those gowns are still available for purchase separately in the boutique. The current packages are more streamlined, which actually makes the booking decision a little easier for families.

The most exciting new addition: Cinderella's Fairy Godmother herself may now stop by during your child's makeover for an enchanted visit. It is not guaranteed, but it is happening regularly and it adds an incredible layer of magic to the experience.

Current 2026 Packages at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (Disneyland)

Here is a quick overview of what is currently available:

For Princess Royalty:

  • Fairy Tale Package (starting at $119.99 plus tax): hairstyle, shimmering makeup, princess sash and cinch bag, nail polish, and a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique T-shirt

  • Enchantment Package (starting at $174.99 plus tax): everything above, plus a trendy tutu and matching mickey ears headband. (This is the package we choose. While you definitely don't need the tutu and Mickey ears, my daughter loves wearing the whole outfit with the T-shirt around the house)

  • Kingdom Package ($229.99 plus tax): the full experience, including a Disney Princess gown of your choice, princess crown and wand, necklace, and a keepsake portrait session with finished prints near Cinderella's carriage

For Brave Knights:

  • Adventure Package (starting at $59.99 plus tax): knight shirt, hairstyling with gel, mighty sword and shield

You can also bring your own dress from home and select any of the hairstyle and accessories packages. More on that below.

Timing Your Visit: The Nap Time Reality Check

This is probably the most important logistical tip I can give you: think carefully about when you schedule your BBB appointment relative to your toddler's nap schedule.

Our appointment fell during what would normally be nap time, and even though our daughter had not been napping much at home lately, the physical demands of a full park day caught up with her. She was exhausted and did have a really hard which caused her to not have the ability to fully soak in the experience.

Here is what I recommend:

  • Book your BBB appointment for the morning (especially when they are younger) when your child is freshest, ideally within the first two hours of your park day.

  • If your toddler still naps, protect that window fiercely. A well-rested child will engage with the Fairy Godmother's Apprentice, enjoy the process, and remember it so much more vividly.

  • If an afternoon slot is your only option, plan a quiet, low-stimulation morning so your little one has the energy reserves to enjoy the experience.

Should You Bring Your Own Dress or Buy One There?

This is the question I see most often in Disney parent groups, and it is a completely valid one given the price difference. Here is the honest breakdown:

Buying a Dress at BBB

  • Official Disney gowns are high-quality and park-ready

  • Eliminates packing stress and potential wrinkles

  • A great option if you want the full signature experience

  • Note: Signature Collection gowns are no longer included in packages but can be purchased separately for $350

Bringing Your Own Dress

  • You can absolutely bring a dress from home and still receive the full hairstyling and accessories experience

  • A wonderful budget-friendly option that lets your child wear a dress they already love

  • Pack it carefully in a garment bag to keep it wrinkle-free

We went the bring-your-own-dress route which we bought from Only Little Once, and it worked beautifully. Everyone loved her dress, and she felt completely like a princess. Here is the link to the one we choose but they have a ton of beautiful options ranging in price: https://onlylittleonce.com/products/1-portrait-collection-courageous-princess-twirl-length-gown?variant=43036571369654 (Not an Affliate Link)

Bottom line: either option works. The magic is in the experience, not the price tag of the gown.

The Actual Boutique Experience: What to Expect Step by Step

Once you step inside Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, the magic really does take over. The space feels whimsical and intentional, designed to make your child feel like the star of their own fairy tale.

Our Fairy Godmother's Apprentice was absolutely incredible. She had a natural gift for connecting with little ones, keeping our daughter engaged and smiling the entire time even through the tiredness. She made her feel so genuinely special, narrating each step like she was casting an actual spell. It is one of those interactions you cannot put a price on.

A few things to know about how the experience flows:

Plan for the full transformation to take 60 to 90 minutes depending on your package and how wiggly your child is. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is located inside Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland, and here is exactly what happens so you are not caught off guard.

When you walk through the castle tunnel, look to your left and you will find the check-in podium (This is seperate from the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique store which has a sign on it which is where the experience will take place.) You can purchase items in this store even if you don't have a reservation). After checking in, you wait nearby until your name is called. You are then brought into a small room right next to the podium to finalize your package and choose your accessories. If you are bringing your own dress, a Cast Member will take you into the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique store where there is a small changing area tucked behind a door. A parent will go in with the child to help get their dress on.

After that, you return to the waiting area outside the podium room. When it is time, you are brought through a separate door into the roped-off styling area connected to the boutique, where you can see other little ones getting their hair done while you wait your turn. Once the makeover is complete, you move to a separate area for the photo session.

A new touch to watch for: Cinderella's Fairy Godmother may stop by for an enchanted visit during or after the transformation. It is not a guaranteed part of every appointment, but when she appears, the magic is absolutely next level.

Photos: What Is Included and What Costs Extra

Photos with Fairy Godmother are included with all packages, but the details matter.

Individual portrait photos, including that beautiful shot near Cinderella's carriage, are included with the top-tier Kingdom Package. If you are going the bring-your-own-dress route or choosing one of the lower-tier packages, you can add individual portraits for $40, which is absolutely worth considering if you want those polished keepsake shots.

Disney PhotoPass photographers are also stationed throughout the park and are happy to photograph your child in their full royal look after the makeover, which is a wonderful complement to the boutique portraits.

The Reaction That Made It All Worth It

Here is what no review can fully prepare you for: the moment your child sees themselves in the mirror for the first time.

The look on my daughter's face when she saw her finished look was one of those parenting moments I want to bottle up and keep forever. And the response from other Guests in the park? Everyone noticed her. Everyone commented on her dress. She walked out of that boutique holding her head a little higher, waving at strangers like actual royalty.

That is the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique magic. It is not just a makeover. It is the moment your child steps fully into the story they have been imagining.

Quick-Reference Tips Before You Book

  • Book as early as possible. Reservations open 60 days in advance via the Disneyland app, and slots fill fast, especially during peak seasons.

  • Schedule during your child's best time of day, not during nap time if you can avoid it. Morning appointments are ideal.

  • Bringing your own dress is a completely valid and magical option. Pack it in a garment bag.

  • BBB is inside Sleeping Beauty Castle. Check in at the podium on the left as you walk through the tunnel, and know that the experience moves through several different areas, so follow your Cast Member's lead.

  • Individual portrait photos are included with the Kingdom Package. For other packages, you can add them for $40.

  • Cinderella's Fairy Godmother may stop by for a surprise visit. Do not spoil it for your little one and let it be a magical surprise.

  • Arrive with clean, brushed, product-free hair and clean nails (if your package includes nail polish). This is required for the experience.

  • Plan for 60 to 90 minutes inside the boutique, depending on your package.

Is Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Worth It?

Yes, with the right expectations and preparation. It is not a cheap experience, but for a child who loves princesses, the emotional payoff is real. The key is setting your child up for success by timing the appointment well and going in knowing exactly what to expect.

If you are planning a Disneyland trip with a little one who is obsessed with all things princess, this is one reservation worth making.
